Is imported toughened glass from Asia the same quality as Australian Toughened Glass? | The short answer: not necessarily. Toughened (tempered) glass is made using a heat-treatment process that strengthens ordinary float glass so that, when broken, it shatters into small blunt fragments rather than sharp shards. The process itself is well-understood worldwide, but the quality and safety depend heavily on manufacturing standards and quality control. Without that certification, you’re taking a compliance and safety risk. |
